Outreach & Mission
Runnells Christian Church's mission statement is "Build. Grow. Serve." When we say our mission is to serve, we mean that caring for others is essential to being a follower of Jesus Christ.
Runnells Christian Church is a member of Caring Hands Outreach Center. Together with other Christian churches and community partners, we operate a food pantry and clothing closet and offer utility/rent assistance to our neighbors in east Polk county. Our Fifth Sunday Service Projects bring mission and service into worship on months with five Sundays; these projects have included assembling diaper packs for mothers in need, packing hygiene kits for Church World Service to send to refugee camps and disaster areas around the world, and making care bags for hospice patients and volunteers. The annual Christmas Outreach Auction raises funds that can be used throughout the year for emergency assistance to our neighbors. Other mission and service projects have included supporting overseas mission trips and missionaries, providing school supplies and lunch money for students in Southeast Polk Schools, and helping to send children to church camp. Mission and service projects are also woven into Vacation Bible School and youth group each year.
