Building Renovation
& Expansion

Nearly 100 years ago, the founders of The Runnells Christian Church had the hope, the foresight and determination to start our church.

As we approach Commitment Sunday and prayerfully consider our pledges for the Renovation and Expansion Campaign Fund, we reflect on how our current congregation has worked together toward our building renovation and expansion.

In 2004 we began the Faithful Planning process and in turn created a building evaluation team. The building determined that our limited space prohibits many ministry needs from being met. To better serve our community, the congregation prioritized our building needs: a larger narthex, more functional and flexible sanctuary seating for 200 to 250 people, larger and higher chancel with expanded choir seating, a nursery close to the sanctuary, an enlarged fellowship hall and better access for the handicapped.

Since August 2005, the building team has been working on plans for our growing congregation. The congregation chose a building design and approved the project with a goal of $650,000.

Now, it’s our turn; yours and mine. We have the opportunity to pledge our spiritual support through prayer, our financial support on Commitment Sunday and our support to share our talents through volunteering. This allows us to be a part of something that will serve generations to come. We provide the hope, the foresight and the determination to move this church forward by being a part of "Building for the Next 100 years".
